Dr. Gale Parchoma is an Associate Professor of Educational Technology and Design (ETAD) in the Department of Curriculum Studies at the University of Saskatchewan. Gale currently teaches in graduate courses in ETAD and research methodologies. From 2013-2016, Gale was an Associate Professor in the Learning Sciences at the University of Calgary. From 2007-2012 she was a member of a team that designed, developed, and taught the e-Research and Technology Enhanced Learning PhD program for the Department of Educational Research at Lancaster University in the UK. Gale’s research interests include design thinking, distributed cognition, the scholarship of teaching and learning, and simulation-based education. During her time in Lancaster, Gale led a UK Technology Transfer Board-funded (£130,000) team who developed online approaches to integrating technology enhanced learning in undergraduate medical education and examined the practice of simulation-based medical education in the National Health Service. She is currently leading a team of scholarship of teaching and learning in higher education researchers at the University of Calgary.
