Natalie Giesbrecht has been engaged in supporting distance education at the University of Guelph for nearly a decade. Currently she is the Manager, Distance Education at the Open Learning and Educational Support (OpenEd) and leads a team of instructional designers focused on the design, development, and delivery of online degree and non-degree credit courses. As a graduate of the Master of Educational Technology program from the University of British Columbia, Natalie enjoys working with faculty to design interactive and engaging online courses. Natalie chairs the Standing Committee for Distance Education and sits on the executive for the Ontario Council for University Lifelong Learning (OCULL). Her research interests include: online collaborative learning, innovative use of educational technologies in distance education, enquiry-based learning, and blended learning.
