Cheryl L Jeffs, EdD, is an educational development consultant and faculty member at the University of Calgary, Calgary Alberta. Cheryl works with an enthusiastic team in the Educational Development Unit, Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning. The team supports excellence in teaching and learning through research-informed educational development programs and initiatives.
Cheryl brings to the University of Calgary a diverse background in professional and educational development, adult education and training. She holds a BA in family and nutritional science and a MA in adult education from the University of British Columbia. She completed her doctorate in educational leadership at Simon Fraser University in BC.
Cheryl is the program chair of the 2015 University of Calgary Conference on Post-Secondary Learning and Teaching and is the leader of the University’s Grants Program Community of Practice. Cheryl has served on institutional, provincial and national boards and societies, and is currently a director of the Canadian Society for the Study of Higher Education (CSSHE) and Canada’s Collaboration for Online Higher Education and Research (COHERE). Her interests include the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, graduate student development and blended learning.
